Jimmy Hogeda's Legacy in the Salon Industry

As a professional hairstylist and mentor, Jimmy Hogeda has always dreamed of creating his own shear brand—a vision he nurtured since his days as a student in cosmetology school.

Jimmy’s career began in 1987 after graduating from cosmetology school. He immersed himself in the craft as an independent hair artist in his hometown of San Angelo, Texas. A few years later, he joined a large salon chain, where he found unlimited opportunities for growth. This platform allowed Jimmy to mentor salon professionals across the United States, sharpening his skills as a hair artist and expanding his expertise in salon management, multi-salon operations, and facilitating educational training throughout the US.

His mission was clear: to provide hair artists with employment opportunities, while providing mentorship to stylists with a goal of building a successful clientele. This passion for uplifting fellow stylists and rebuilding struggling salons became the cornerstone of his career.

In 2010, Jimmy stepped away from the salon industry to explore new ventures. After a five-year hiatus, his desire to stay connected with the hair industry led him to establish Sharp Shears USA in 2015. Initially focusing on shear sharpening and shear sales for other brands, Jimmy’s commitment to excellence laid the foundation for his own precision cutting tool brand Acri Shears in 2020.

Today, Jimmy is proud to see his lifelong vision become a reality. Through Acri Shears, he provides hair professionals nationwide with premium cutting tools and shear sharpening services as a Master Sharpener. 

Jimmy remains dedicated to empowering stylists and barbers with cutting tools that enhance their individual artistry and craft.
