About us

As a professional hair stylist and mentor in the salon industry, owner and founder Jimmy Hogeda has always had a vision of creating his own shear brand since he was a student in beauty academy.  

His career in the industry began in 1987 after graduating from beauty academy, then immersing himself deeply in his career behind the chair as an independent hair artist in his home-town of San Angelo, Texas. After a few years, he started his career path with a large salon chain that provided unlimited opportunities for advancement and growth that allowed him to mentor other salon professionals throughout the USA. 

His career with the salon chain allowed him to expand his knowledge as a hair artist, then eventually transitioning into salon management, salon operations and educational training. His mission was to offer hair artists employment opportunities, then mentoring them to build a successful clientele.

After departing from the salon industry in 2010 and separating himself from the industry for about 5 years to pursue other opportunities, he founded Sharp Shears USA in 2015 as a shear sharpener and shear sales representative for other shear brands to stay connected with the hair industry. 

Fast forward to today, Jimmy is excited to see what was once a vision become a reality, and is grateful for the opportunity to provide hair professionals nationwide, with precision cutting tools and shear sharpening services.
